Workout July 31, 2008
This workout brought to you by Cookie Monster and the Number 3, mwhaa-ha-ha-ha-ha… Lookin’ forward to an 80-miler this Sunday. We’ll see if my body can handle it.
Trying to get in three workouts this week before camping, I made sure to hit the weights hard today and plan another hard workout for Friday morning, just in time to drive out to the campsite and pound in a few tent stakes.
Powering my workout today were the Eagles: The Very Best Of
and When We Touch - fallin’ in love songs from the 70s. I’m sharing this with you, but you need to promise not to tell anyone that I listen to 70s love songs. Not thinking it’s the best workout music.
Deadlift: 10 sets, 5 reps per set at 225 pounds. Start a new set every 90 seconds.
Bench Press: 3 sets, 5 reps per set at 180 pounds. 3 sets, 5 reps per set at 170 pounds. 4 sets, 5 reps per set at 155 pounds. Start a new set every 90 seconds.
Body-weight Squats: 80
Pull-ups: 6 sets, 3 reps per set, alternating behind the neck and under the chin. Okay, not ALL of them were under the chin. A few just made it to my nose. Arbitrary rest between sets.
Barbell Curls: 6 sets, 5 reps per set. Start a new set every 60 seconds.
Jump Rope: 5 minutes.
