It’s Been A Great Year
Well, I have about 3 weeks left in my tenure as a CINNUG director. For the last year I’veĀ been the defacto marketing director with the group, communicating with sponsors, conducting market surveys, gathering content and writing and distributing newsletters. I’d like to think that my contributions have contributed to the 20% increase in attendance in 2009.
But the best part of this experience has been working with the incredibly talented .NET community in Cincinnati. I spent the last 15 years in the software development world, and the chance to give back in a small way has been both humbling and the source of a sense of pride. Mike Wood is a indefatigable, selfless workhorse who wants nothing more than to help the development community rise to the next level. I’ve been honored to work with him, sharing ideas, being introduced to the movers and shakers, and watching his passions come to life. Phil Japikse will take over lead duties next year. What else can I say? Watching him grow as a top tier presenter has been an energizing experience. Phil is one of the premier speakers in the region and he’s taking his game to the national level. I can’t believe I had the opportunity to work so closely with him. And then Matt Brewer. He’s the man. The whole community watched him take faithful steps as he stepped into a networking role, stepped up to represent the group, built relationships across the region, and organized special events for the group. Matt, you’ve always been one of my biggest fans, and I really appreciate that. I’ll always be one of yours.
Here’s to Jennifer Griffen who will take over my role in 2010. Let me know what I can do to help you, Jen. I got your back!
And let me leave you with one of my favorite experiences of the last 12 months, when Microsoft’s Jennifer Marsman asked me to do this. Looking forward to what CINNUG has in store for 2010!

Andy, It’s been great working with you over the past year. You’ve done a lot for the community, and I know you’ll continue to do so with the myriad of other groups you’re involved with.
Thanks for making CINNUG what it is today.
