On Saturday, September 20th, Todd, Bill, Mike, Joe, and I rode the annual Hope Ride supporting the foodbank in Hope, Indiana. This ride is just great. I would guess 3000 riders from all over the region participate. What I don’t get is how the really fat people blow by me like I’m standing still. If it weren’t so fun, I’d give up the bike

Wow, I haven’t done any workout at all in three weeks. I’m hoping today’s 45 mile ride with Dale Unroe and Mike Myers kick starts me to get back into this. With the 100-miler coming up on the 20th I can’t afford to miss another weekend ride. Hoping to do 70 or 80 next weekend.

Friday’s workout blew chunks. Well, not literally, but it could have had I continued. My wife was in the emergency room the night before until 3AM, and for some reason I tried working out the next morning. I stopped before I got hurt. In any case, I made up for that with today’s ride. The family spent the weekend in Deer Creek State Park, camping, just south of Columbus. My route took me from our campground to my home in Fairfield Township.

Mike Myers and I headed out this morning at 6:30am at our Middletown meeting place, the FOP hall near Route 4 and Route 122 on the West Side of Middletown. This is a great rolling hill ride through some scenic country between Middletown and Oxford, Ohio. Germantown is a beautiful small town with some great Victorian architecture about 10 miles into the ride.
